A Great Local Pet Store Still Has to Be Found

A strong in-store experience only matters when local pet parents know the business exists. The store needed to compete for valuable local searches while making it easier for nearby shoppers to discover its products, visit its website, and find its location.

The goal wasn’t simply to increase rankings or impressions. SEO needed to connect the store with more potential customers and support continued business growth.

Where We Started

Build Local Visibility Around Real Customer Intent

We focused the SEO strategy on helping nearby pet parents discover the store, understand what it offered, and take the next step toward visiting.

The Strategy

Strengthen Local Search Visibility

Improve how the business appeared in Google Maps and nearby pet-store searches.

Target High-Intent Searches

Build visibility for the products, services, and local terms pet parents use when they’re ready to shop.

Turn Searches Into Customer Actions

Make it easy for people to call, visit the website, or request directions from Google.

More Pet Parents Found the Store and Took the Next Step

From January through June 2026, the store received 2,703 clicks from unpaid Google search results. That was a 220% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

Organic search generated 3,617 website sessions, up 57% year over year. Overall website traffic reached 9,208 sessions, an increase of 146%.

The growth extended beyond website traffic. The store’s Google Business Profile generated 2,613 customer interactions, up 44%. Pet parents clicked through to the website 1,566 times, placed 443 calls, and requested directions 604 times.

Website clicks from the Google profile increased 56%, calls increased 59%, and direction requests increased 14%. Mobile Maps impressions also increased by 59%.

The Search Results

More Visibility Was Followed by Six Months of Revenue Growth

During the same six-month period, store revenue increased from $539,943 in 2025 to $576,651 in 2026.

That represents $36,708 in additional revenue and a 6.8% year-over-year increase.

Revenue exceeded the previous year in every measured month. January recorded the largest increase at 18.9%, while the remaining five months continued to build on the store’s prior-year performance.

How We Measure the Results

All results compare January 1 through June 30, 2026 with the same dates in 2025.

Revenue totals come from client-reported point-of-sale records. Website sessions and organic sessions come from Google Analytics. Search clicks, impressions, and average positions come from Google Search Console. Calls, website clicks, direction requests, and profile impressions come from Google Business Profile.

These results occurred during the Pet Engine Marketing partnership, but marketing is not the only factor that affects store revenue. Direction requests and calls indicate customer intent, but they do not confirm that every person visited the store or completed a purchase.

Each platform measures a different type of activity, so totals from separate platforms should not be added together.
